The Walmart MoneyCard Refer a Friend Offer
Terms & Conditions
A current Walmart MoneyCard primary accountholder ("Referrer") may refer a friend ("Referred Friend") to open a Walmart MoneyCard deposit account ("Account") by sharing a unique referral link ("Link") with a Referred Friend using one of the on-screen methods permitted, and the Referrer and Referred Friend may each be eligible to receive a $50 reward ("Reward") for a limited time according to these terms and conditions ("Offer"). This Offer is made by Green Dot Corporation ("Green Dot"), P.O. Box 1070, West Chester, OH 45071.
1. Eligibility and Payment. In order for the Referrer and Referred Friend to be eligible to receive the Reward, the Referred Friend a) may not currently have an Account or have had an open account 90 days prior to opening their new Account b) must open a new Account between August 1, 2023 and March 2, 2027, c) must use the email address or phone number provided by Referrer for Referred Friend when registering for the Account without using the Link, and d) must receive at least one Qualifying Direct Deposit (as defined below) of $300 or more within 45 days of opening the Account. In addition, the Referrer and Referred Friend must x) be 18 years of age or older, y) be a citizen or lawfully residing in one of the 50 states of the United States, the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico, and z) have an Account in good standing (i.e., not blocked or suspended for fraud or any other reason). If a Referred Friend opens additional family accounts associated with an Account, any such family accounts are not eligible for Rewards. Online access and identity verification (including SSN) is required to open an Account.
A "Qualifying Direct Deposit" is a direct deposit of payroll or government benefits (including unemployment benefits and child support) and does not include, for example, debit card transfers, tax refund deposits, person-to-person transfers, mobile check cashing deposits or cash deposits.
A Reward will generally be credited to the Referrer’s Account and to the Referred Friend’s Account within 48 hours of a Qualifying Direct Deposit to the Referred Friend’s Account, but may take longer in some circumstances if, for example, Green Dot is investigating any indication of fraud or a violation of these terms and conditions.
2. Restrictions. No participant can earn more than $750 in Rewards in a calendar year (January 1 – December 31) in the role of Referrer or Referred Friend. The Referrer cannot also be the Referred Friend by creating multiple or fictitious Accounts. The Link must be distributed in a personal manner to Referrer’s friends, colleagues, family members and general network utilizing the on-screen sharing methods permitted by the Offer. The dissemination of the Link using bulk email distribution, by posting on forums or chat rooms, or utilizing bots or other similar technology (e.g., script, macro, etc.) to earn Rewards is strictly prohibited.
3. General Conditions. The Offer may be suspended, modified or withdrawn without prior notice for any reason in Green Dot’s sole discretion. You are deemed to be aware of and bound by any modifications to the Offer and these terms and conditions by your continued participation in the Offer. Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, garbled, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, or undelivered emails, Account sign-ups, referrals, Rewards or the tabulation of Rewards; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Offer, including, without limitation, errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Offer, the processing of emails, Account sign-ups, referrals or Rewards, or in any Offer-related materials. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to participants’ or to any other person’s computer or printer related to or resulting from participating in this Offer or downloading materials from or use of the Walmart MoneyCard website or mobile application. Should any portion of the Offer be, in Green Dot’s sole opinion, compromised by bugs, virus, worms, non-authorized human intervention or other causes, which, in the sole opinion of Green Dot, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or submission of information, Green Dot reserves the right at its sole discretion to terminate the Offer. Green Dot may monitor any communications by participants pertaining to the Offer and may block any email messages or remove any such content it deems in violation of these terms and conditions. Green Dot may, in its sole discretion, disqualify anyone from participating in the Offer that it believes has a) engaged in fraudulent activity, b) otherwise acted in a manner inconsistent with these terms and conditions, or c) violated the law. By participating, Referrer and Referred Friend agree: (i) to be bound by these terms and conditions and the decisions of Green Dot, which are final and binding, and (ii) to release and hold harmless Green Dot, its subsidiaries, affiliates, retailers, and advertising and promotion agencies and all of their respective officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") against any liability, for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Offer or acceptance and use of any Rewards. The Referred Friend acknowledges that if he or she participates in the Offer and earns a Reward, Referrer may be aware that the Referred Friend opened an Account and made a Qualifying Direct Deposit, and consents to disclosure of such information to the Referrer. Green Dot cannot provide information about someone else’s Account or status. The personal information obtained by Green Dot in conjunction with the Offer will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the Privacy Policy governing the Walmart MoneyCard. Rewards of $600 or more will be reported on tax form 1099-INT and the Referrer and Referred Friend are each responsible for all associated federal, state and local taxes that may apply to a Reward. This Offer is not combinable with any other offer, is non-transferable, and is void where prohibited by law. Banking services are provided by Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC.
4. Additional Terms. These terms and conditions incorporate and supplement the Walmart MoneyCard Deposit Account Agreement that governs all use of your Account. For example, the Walmart MoneyCard Deposit Account Agreement contains an "Arbitration Notice" provision that requires all disputes to be resolved by way of binding arbitration. That provision applies to any disputes arising from the Offer and these terms and conditions. In the event of any inconsistency between these terms and conditions and any provision of the Walmart MoneyCard Deposit Account Agreement, these terms and conditions will control only with respect to the Offer, and only to the extent necessary to resolve the inconsistency.

Cash back, up to $75 per year, is credited to card balance at end of reward year and is subject to successful activation and other eligibility requirements. Redeem rewards using our website or app. You will earn cash back of three percent (3%) on qualifying purchases made at Walmart.com and in the Walmart app using your card or your card number, two percent (2%) at Walmart fuel stations, and one percent (1%) on qualifying purchases at Walmart stores in the United States (less returns and credits) posted to your Card during each reward year. Grocery delivery and pickup purchases made on Walmart.com or the Walmart app earn 1%. For the purpose of cash back rewards, a "reward year" is twelve (12) monthly periods in which you have paid your monthly fee or had it waived. See Deposit Account Agreement for details.
Opt-in required. Account must have initial eligible direct deposits, must be in good standing and have an activated chip-enabled debit card to opt-in. Ongoing eligible direct deposits and other criteria apply to maintain eligibility for overdraft protection. Only debit card purchase transactions are eligible for overdraft protection and overdrafts are paid at our discretion. We reserve the right to not pay overdrafts. For example, we may not pay overdrafts if the account is not in good standing, or is not receiving ongoing eligible direct deposits, or has too many overdrafts. Overdraft fees may cause your account to be overdrawn by an amount that is greater than your overdraft coverage. A $15 fee may apply to each eligible purchase transaction that brings your account negative. Balance must be brought to at least $0 within 24 hours of authorization of the first transaction that overdraws your account to avoid a fee. Overdraft protection is only available on Demand Deposit Accounts that meet eligibility requirements. Log into and refer to your Account Agreement to check feature availability.
Monthly fee waived when you direct deposit $500+ in the previous monthly period. Otherwise, $5.94 a month.
Early direct deposit availability depends on payor type, timing, payment instructions, and bank fraud prevention measures. As such, early direct deposit availability may vary from pay period to pay period. The name and Social Security number on file with your employer or benefits provider must match your Walmart MoneyCard account to prevent fraud restrictions on the account.
Limits apply. Your funds typically become available on your account within 10 minutes for your use.

Monthly fees will continue on locked cards. Previously authorized transactions and deposits/transfers to your account will function with a locked card.
Interest paid annually on each enrollment anniversary based on the average daily balance across all savings of the prior 365 days, up to a maximum average daily balance of $1,000 across all savings, if the primary account is in good standing and has a positive balance. 2.00% Annual Percentage Yield may change at any time before or after account is opened. Annual Percentage Yield is accurate as of January 2026. Fees on your primary account may reduce earnings on your savings account. See Deposit Account Agreement for terms and conditions.

Activated, personalized debit card required to refer friends to Walmart MoneyCard. In order for both the referred individual and the referring Walmart MoneyCard primary accountholder to each qualify for and receive the $50 referral reward, the following conditions must be met: The referred individual may not have been a Walmart MoneyCard customer in the 90 days prior to opening their new Account; they must open a new Account between August 1, 2023 and March 2, 2027: the must open the new account using the referring Walmart MoneyCard accountholder’s unique referral (share) link directly or as shared through email or social post; and they must receive in the new Account a qualifying direct deposit of $200 or more within 45 days of account opening. The qualifying direct deposit must be made by the referred individual’s employer, payroll provider, government benefits, or unemployment benefits payor by Automated Clearing House (ACH) deposit. Bank ACH transfers, debit card transfers, verification or trial deposits from financial institutions, tax refund deposits, mobile check cashing, and cash deposits are not qualifying deposit activities. Referring Walmart MoneyCard accountholder and referred individual Walmart MoneyCard accounts must be in good standing to be eligible for and receive a reward. The reward is paid to each party within 48 hours after qualifying funds are deposited into the referred individual’s new Account. New and referring Walmart MoneyCard accountholders may earn no more than $750 in referral rewards per calendar year (January 1 - December 31). Referred individual acknowledges that payment of the reward will result in the referring Walmart MoneyCard accountholder’s knowledge of the individual’s new Account. Walmart MoneyCard reserved the right to cancel or modify the terms of the referral offer or terminate the member’s eligibility at any time with or without prior notice.
